Meet The Team – Mick Wilton, Project Manager

This week our ‘Meet the Team’ shines a light on one of our Project Managers – Mick Wilton. Whilst catching up with Mick, we find out a bit more of what his day-to-day life is like, both inside and outside of his role at Ergro…

You’ve been with Ergro for 2 Years now, why are you still here?

“I enjoy the role. Previously I was on-site as a construction Site Manager, working in the residential sector. I saw an opening for an Assistant Project Manager at Ergro back in 2022 and thought ‘Now’s the time to step up’. Although the work I now carry out is miles apart from what I had spent the last 10 years doing, I am really enjoying myself in my role, and only wish I had taken the chance sooner.”

What’s the best part of your job?

“Probably the people. I work with a team that has a wide range of experience and they will always go above and beyond to help and assist with any questions or issues.”

What makes your team run so smoothly?

“Communication! Communication is key in our field of work as we work to strict deadlines. The fact that we all get on with each other helps also.”

What do you do in your spare time?

“Spare time? What’s that? My spare time is taken up with my family and 11 cats!! I have 3 sons, the eldest of the 3 recently became a father. My granddaughter is the light of my life and every time she smiles, she melts away my day-to-day stresses and worries. When not spending time with my family, I like to work on my ‘project car’.”

You find a lottery ticket to win £10 million. What would you do?

“I want to say something selfless, like give it all to charity, but if I’m honest I’d ensure my family (future and present) are set up with no worries. But I would allow myself some expensive luxuries in the form of classic cars.”
