Meet The Team – Ben Compton

This week’s ‘Meet The Team’ is with Apprentice Engineer – Ben Compton

Ben Has only been working for Ergro for a few weeks, however he is already showing great enthusiasm for his new role, training as a Multi-skilled Building Services Engineer…

How are you getting on in your Apprenticeship role with Ergro?

“I have only been at Ergro for a few weeks however, everything is going great, I have been learning a lot from everyone around me. Everyone in the business has been very welcoming and supportive every step of the way.”

Why did you choose Ergro?

“I was working in recruitment previously, where I had heard and seen great things about Ergro whilst they were actually my client. This has been reinforced further now I’ve experienced it firsthand too. I was also recommended through my friend Sam who works for Ergro who mentioned a lot of good things and that everyone was super close and sort of like a family.”

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

“In 5 years I would have liked to be developed further in Ergro and progressed into a more managerial role such as Supervisor, Lead Engineer or even Contract Manager.”

What does a typical weekend look like?

“My typical weekend consists of seeing friends, going out and socialising. Some of my friends are at university so I try to visit where I can. I also enjoy playing golf with my brother and having a chilled one. I used to play a lot of sports when I was younger such as cricket and rugby, which used to take up a lot of my time.”

Where is one place you’d love to travel to?

“I’d love to travel to Japan at some point in my life. I have always been interested in their traditional, yet futuristic culture, and more importantly…their food.”

What are you most looking forward to right now?

“There are a couple of things I’m currently looking forward to. First-off, I have just started a career in an industry I’ve been interested in for a while now, so I look forward to what the future holds in that regard. Also, I might be going away to Thailand later on in the year, which is another country I’ve been interested in visiting for a while now; they have great beaches and great food, what more could I ask for?”
